TERRA NULLIUS
(2023)

Untitled design-7.png

In September 2023, 31 artists and curators convened to engage in a discussion exploring
the meaning and implications of the phrase
'No Man’s Land'

Places, memories, and associations collided as the group developed a theory: No Man’s Land doesn’t have a single meaning. It has, instead, a plurality of interpretations inextricably intertwined with one’s individual experience of the invisible. In this unseen space, the dystopian frames the utopian. Beauty coexists with fear. Life walks alongside death. What is left in a world without Man? What emerges in its absence? It is here in the hazy gap between destruction and rebirth that we collectively respond to No Man’s Land.

The Exhibition you
See Before you is
the
Culmination of
These Responses.

Some of the artworks here reflect the very real anxieties that come from living in a world on the brink of meltdown. Themes involving the climate crisis, conflict, and violence.
