THRESHOLDS OF PERCEPTION
TRACING THE SPACES BETWEEN
(2024)

Life is punctuated by transitions - fleeting moments where the familiar dissolves and the possible emerges. Thresholds of Perception delves into these liminal spaces, where ambiguity and potential converge to shape human experience.

In this exhibition, nine artists - bound by a shared studio and collective yet deeply individual practices - reflect on the porous boundaries that connect their personal and collective memories.

Memory, as intricate and singular as a fingerprint, becomes a thread weaving these artists together. Each trajectory is distinct, yet shared histories and the need for witnessing permeate their work.

Memory demands not only introspection but also external acknowledgment, an interplay between the private and the communal that defines human connection. The exhibition’s locus is this intersection, where individual recollection meets collective memory, revealing both the fragility and the resilience of what is remembered.

Through this shared engagement with memory and change, the artists invite us to linger in the discomfort and potential of transformation. These works remind us that thresholds are not barriers but invitations to reimagine what it means to be human in a state of continual becoming.

Time becomes the architecture of the exhibition, situating the viewer in an unfolding present that cannot be separated from the imprints of the past or the anticipations of the future.

Each work is an artefact of transition, inhabiting the tension between "the no longer" and "the not yet." The curatorial framework invites us to linger in this disquieting yet fertile in-between, where transformations unfold unseen, and the potential for reimagining existence resides.
